The holidays are just around the corner. While things are merry and bright for some, they might not be so for others. And what we all have in common as a collective in this time is the heightened sense of chaos and busyness. Between work, family and other commitments, the race to the end of the year can feel overwhelming. Traffic, crowds, workloads, you name it. We are operating in fight and flight.
You know that saying, you should meditate for 20 minutes a day and if you are too busy, then you should meditate for an hour?
Well, it’s true. Now, more than ever, we should be regulating our nervous system. This helps us to respond better and be more resilient to the stress that is coming at us whether it’s a heated political conversation by your uncle at Christmas dinner or someone cutting you off in traffic.
On December 15th, carve aside a few hours for a deep reset. We’ll begin with a short yin class to gently stretch and relax our body so that it is easier to drop in to rebirthing breathwork. Rebirthing breathwork is a gentle circular nose-breathing breath. There’s no screaming involved. There’s no feeling like you are climbing up a steep mountain. This gentle breath is mighty powerful though and eventually, the breath takes the lead and then you are guided by the divine.
Rebirthing breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system, rest and restore. It takes you out of fight or flight and brings you back to a state where energy can be shifted, blocks can clear and the nervous system can regulate.
As your guide, I will be holding space and guiding you into this breath. At the same time, I will be supporting your session with sound and reiki to help release any resistance.
You will leave the session feeling a lasting sense of peace and calm. I will provide you with a few breaths you can do in your own time to continue to maintain that nervous system regulation in the coming days, weeks.
Bring: The studio has mats, bolsters, blocks and blankets. Please bring an eye mask and journal.
